Cocktails & Couture | Posh Event Recap

Cocktails & Couture panel | hostess Lianne Farbes | guests & bloggers mingling

Last week I attended Cocktails & Couture, hosted by beauty expert and blogger Lianne Farbes, during New York Fashion Week. The invite only / limited admission event was held at 320 Studios in NYC. It included a panel on personal branding with Claire Sulmers of FashionBombDaily, Jennifer Walsh of Behind the Brand, celebrity manicurist Tracylee Percival, Jessica Goon of Avon/Mark and JasFly, entertainment journalist from VH1's The Gossip Game.

The panel shared some insight for bloggers into maintaining your social media personality and working with brands. A few tidbits:

"When blogging, always be aware of your voice."

"When working with brands, always deliver on your promises. Do what you say you're going to do."

"Know the DNA of a brand before you work with them."

"Cover a brand on your own, and be engaged with it before sending a proposal to work with them."

"The number one thing you want to do when working with brands is be easy to work with."

Following the business part of the event, was the party. Guests mingled while sipping on cocktails and eating Sweet Generation cupcakes, and visited the brand sponsors including Restorsea, Elasta QP, and COCOTIQUE--who brought along Cover FX to provide makeup touch ups throughout the evening.

It was a super cute and super fun evening. Of course I also had my makeup touched up by Cover FX's amazing makeup artist, Brett, who made me want to buy absolutely everything (their cream foundation was already on my beauty wish list for fall). I will be snagging their blotting powder and sunlight illuminator soon!
