GIFT GUIDE for Toddlers

Toddler gift guide - 7 last minute gifts

If you haven’t finished crossing off your Christmas list by now you’re probably freaking out a little bit, but if you’re shopping for a toddler, I’ve got you covered. From entertainment and play time, to at-home learning, craft and sensory supplies, or something for the little one’s special reading corner, here are 7 spot-on gifts, that will either ship by Christmas or are eligible for store pick- up. Any parent looking to supplement learning or distract your littles for a while; or any uncle, auntie or godparent looking to score points, this is the gift guide for you.

Toddler gift guide - 7 last minute gifts
  1. Kinetic Sand- colorful, makes cool shapes, perfect for sensory play. Brooklyn asks for sand every day and can spend hours shaping, cutting and reshaping it.

  2. Melissa and Doug Lacing Sneaker - we actually received this as a gift last Christmas and Brooklyn thinks it’s so cool! At 3, she is a little young to start tying her shoes, but early exposure and extra motor practice never hurt. If you’re buying for a kindergartener, this is the perfect gift.

  3. Melissa and Doug 24-piece puzzle - we love Melissa and Doug toys and the puzzles are no exception. Brooklyn is moving from peg puzzles to interlocking puzzles and the brand’s 12 and 24 piece options are sized well for her hands, and are appropriately challenging. Our favorite so far is the “farm” but this alphabet one is next on our list.

  4. Little Tikes Basketball Set - with the weather being colder now we are always looking for ways to have indoor play (a tired toddler is a toddler who sleeps at night!) This Little Tikes basketball set lets Brooklyn play and expend energy alone, or with Daddy, and without breaking anything.

  5. YHZAN Montessori Material Early Learning Basic Life Skills set - this was recommended for us by a fellow mom & former educator to help Brooklyn further with motor skills that she needs to get dressed independently, like zipping, buttoning, snapping and more!

  6. How to Count 1-5 in Five Languages - this one is on our Christmas list this year too! We’ve already been working with Brooklyn on counting in Spanish but it’ll be fun to have her learn in the other languages as well.

  7. National Geographic Little Kids First Big Book of the World - if your tot is as curious as ours, you’ll definitely want to grab this one. From interesting animals, to varying countries and climates, this book is an easy and fun way to introduce littles to concepts outside our current sphere of movement—especially now that in-person travel isn’t really an option.
