Hi there! I’m Kim Barfield, and the Pish Posh Perfect blog is where I come to shamelessly dish about everyday mom style, kid style and family life. If you’re into heartfelt, and often hilarious, conversations about beauty, style/fashion, home, or parenting, you’re in the right place!
Over the years, Pish Posh Perfect has evolved a few times, as my life has transitioned, and I’m enjoying this current space of life + style under the influence of a very demanding, but ridiculously cute and sweet preschool-aged girl named Brooklyn, and also as mom to a fully independent, adult man who has moved away from home—but is never more than a FaceTime away.
In the past, this blog has been featured at POPSUGAR Select Fashion, Independent Fashion Bloggers, Essence.com, and as a “Shea Radiance for Target” Tastemaker. Content Creator + personal stylist
As a certified personal stylist, I’m dedicated to helping you find a style that’s fit for how you need to show up in the world right now. Life changes, and your style has to evolve right along with it. And I can relate! While working from home currently as a copywriter, content creator, wife, and Mama, my everyday style often consists of very comfortable and functional clothing. But this former dress-and-heels-to-the-office-everyday girl, completely understands the need to show up as your most fabulous self. It can be overwhelming to figure out how to dress for your various daily roles and differing phases of life—I can help make it easier.
As far back as I can remember, I acted as personal stylist for family and friends, helping them to get ready for special events, or giving them tips on how to style things in their closets that they hadn’t given a second look. Eventually I started my first blog, Chic Mommy, Cool Kid dedicated to all the fabulous mommies out there, looking amazing with their cool kids! Chic Mommy, Cool Kid would eventually grow into what is now Pish Posh Perfect!
Over the years I’ve written about personal style for my own blog, and other blogs and websites (like Examiner.com’s Style & Fashion Channel, MadameNoire.com and TransitioningMovement.com), I’ve had two featured shops as a guest editor on ShopStyle.com, been an Editorial Director for a small beauty brand, and taken on personal styling clients both online with Keaton Row and in-person at Nordstrom department store. These experiences have brought me full circle into passion + purpose, helping real women, as well as brands, show up and make an impact, both in-person and online.
While I still take on occasional Personal Styling clients, I’m also a Copywriter and Content Creator, specializing in both written and visual storytelling for my most beloved topics: beauty, home organization, parenting and style & fashion.
