A Weekend Romp

The Kid and I spent lots of quality time this weekend. From shopping for his upcoming 8th grade dance on Friday night, to munching on stadium fries at the Orioles game on Saturday, to hitting up the farmer's market & bazaar on Sunday. I shimmied into this ultra comfy romper on Sunday morning for the market, along with the denim top bc it was still cool enough for sleeves when we headed out, and the fedora because it just felt kind of bohemian and market appropriate. My budding little photog snapped all of these pics, and a few more where he was just kind of playing around with the camera--like the landscape shots above. He's getting really good, don't you think? I love the way he captured the rays of sunlight in the 3rd pic from the top.
This was our first time at the farmer's market this season, so we mostly browsed to get a feel for which vendors returned from last year and what was new and interesting. But we did snag some fresh broccoli, strawberries and sweet potatoes, along with a few pieces of fresh fish. And, as is customary, we snacked a little too. These little hot powdered donuts are like doughy bits of heaven; and we shared a chocolate shake from our favorite dairy truck (As much as I used to love these, I could only drink about half before I got sick of it, so I handed it off. Lesson learned!).
We'll be visiting the market a lot this summer so hopefully I'll have some great fruits, veggies and fresh flowers to share soon.
Do you shop farmer's markets? They are my absolute favorite way to get fresh and locally grown foods, as well as cool artisan items that you can't get anyplace else.
