Posh Weekend Plans + Weekly Link Wrap Up {vol. 4}

For me, this weekend will be about nesting and enjoying the final days of my holiday vacation. With a return to the 9-5 imminent on the horizon, I want to be sure to soak up every last ounce of just kicking around and doing the little things that make me happy, like: catching up on Revenge (the show on ABC, not like, actual Revenge); hanging the super cute mirrors I got from Marshall’s months ago that have just been sitting unloved in my dining room; rearranging my furniture post-holiday décor/Christmas tree; and taking a long walk at the trail near my home. But before all of that commences, I’d love to share with you some of the little gems I’ve discovered this week on the web, if you don’t mind?

It seems the webosphere is way in reflective and fresh start mode this week, and that is wonderful kismet because I am as well. The beginning of the year is such a brilliant time to open your eyes to new things—or to see old things with fresh perspective

GG offers an excellent opportunity for reflection in her thoughtful “How Do You Want to Feel in 2013" post at All the Many Layers. You may be starting to think that I just promote her posts because she is my bestie—and admittedly, that’s part of it—but mostly it's because she’s a super intuitive writer who is gifted at helping people to get more in tune with their spirits by being so open about her own flaws and insecurities.

Through Blogging Your Way to The Front Row, a book I’m reading to get tools for growing my blog in 2013, I discovered Gala Darling—yet another rockstar woman to love. First of all, she wears pink and sparkle and bunny ears quite often (love her yet?); but more than that her messages of self-love and adventure are exactly what I need going into a new year, where I’m focusing on stepping outside the box and creating more of what an ideal life looks like to me. I think you’ll love her too. Find her at GalaDarling.com and watch her video from the TED conference. It’s about 14 minutes long, but so worth it.

I am always on the quest for healthy meat-free recipes and new yummy salads, so The Glitter Guide’s 10 Healthy Recipes to Kick Off 2013 hit the spot! I totally pinned that greens, sprouts and sweet potato salad, and 2 or 3 others. Can. Not. Wait. To. Try.

And finally, I absolutely adore the photo above, found on Pinterest this week. It reminds me of the kind of uber girly, indulgent style that makes me smile both sartorially and in home décor. I have never been one to save an item for a “special occasion” and I kind of want to be even more sparkly in the new year. Every day is an occasion in my book! I’m not sure who initially brought the quote “Life’s too short to wear boring clothes” to life, but I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment.

As an aside: I’ve been thinking a lot about significantly cutting the amount of time I spend watching TV this year in favor of reading—books, magazines and online favorites alike. I have several magazine subscriptions, a stack of books this high, and don’t get to read my favorite blogs as often as I’d like, because “I don’t have time”. But rather, it’s because I haven’t made the time, isn’t it? And I want to remedy that and really dig back into one of my very first loves.

Is there anything about your priorities that you can change this year to make more room for what you love, or what fits into your ideal life?

I’d love to hear about it in the comments! Lots of love and magic, until Monday.
