Style Savvy Beach Vacation {Virginia Beach}

The Honey and I celebrated the close of the kid free portion of my summer with an extended weekend getaway to Virginia Beach.

It was such a relaxing 5 days of fun in the sun; we lazed on the beach, played in the pool at our hotel and had lots of cheesy boardwalk fun--complete with haunted house, arcade and carnival games. Most of all we just enjoyed each other's company and laughed--a lot.

We also ate tons of greasy goods (I'm looking at you fried seafood and late night pizza slice!) and sweet treats on the boardwalk (funnel cake and soft serve ice cream, yum!) but we did have one nice dinner at Mexican restaurant, Plaza Azteca. Our meal was so decadent, from mango margaritas to flaky fish covered in great sauces, to crispy desserts served with ice cream. The Honey enjoyed sopapilla, while I quite literally stuffed myself with churros. They were warm and coated with cinnamon on the outside and had hot apples baked on the inside. I was so full but I couldn't stop eating them!

We ended our last night watching fireworks over the pier--a sweet end to what was a perfect vacation. Here are a few pics!

And now, it's back to the grind. The Kid is back at home, his football season has begun and I have lots of deadlines for next week. Hope you're having a great week!
