What-to-Wear: Movie Date

Any date is an occasion to put your best foot forward, so the natural inclination is to get completely gussied up. There are, however, some instances where ‘tis quite better to scale back to a more casual level of glam. One such instance is the movie date--a date that consists solely of partaking of a cinematic feature, and is non-inclusive of dinner or other more sophisticated activity. “Smart” jeans are absolutely permissible for this occasion, and one can feel free to substitute a wedge or chunky heel for a stiletto (I would not recommend wearing flats on a date, but I would not recommend flats for very many occasions at all, so feel free to make the judgment call on which pedi-attire best suits your mood/personality/existing wardrobe).

The idea here is to pair a looser jean with more body conscious pieces on top. Add the heel for proportion and balance against the boyfriend jean and you are officially gorgeous—yet comfy enough to cozy up next to your crush in the romantic dim of the theater.

And on a totally unrelated note, I went ahead and ordered the Sam Edelman peep toe pumps I wanted (mentioned here), and they arrived today in all their blush patent glory. Pics to come later!
