Summer Beauty Trends – Pop of Color {Guest Post}

All summer, I've been admiring AB in fabulous brightly hued lips--but have not been bold enough to try them on my own. So I asked her for a little guidance in choosing the right one and making it work for me--and of course, I had to share the tidbit here as well.

I have a great deal of things on my financial plate right now – some obligatory responsibilities and some responsibilities tied to fun. Needless to say, there is not much discretionary income to play with some of the major summer clothing trends. And that’s where makeup comes into play.

One cool summer trend that I’ve been having fun with is bright colored lips! I have been bold and explored some new color options for my pout.

I was excited to find a nice matte, bold red lipstick in the CoverGirl Queen Collection, which contains some really great color options.

I have also found a vibrant pink lip color that is AMAZEBALLS. I use CoverGirl Queen Collection Powder Puff Pink lipstick, and top it with MAC LustreGlass Fantabulous. The MAC LustreGlass gives this lip the perfect amount of sheen and glitter.

Here are some other options I want to try this season as well:

KA`OIR's Survivor Lipstick -- At $18.99 this option is kind of pricey, but a portion of the proceeds made from the sale go to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

OCC Lip Tars -- I have been dying to try these for a while now. At the top of my list is a gorgeous purple color called BellaDonna. The great thing about these lip colors is that they are 100% vegan and cruelty-free.

A bright lip color is sure to get everyone’s attention, so why not give it a try, ladies? Be bold and rock a bold hue!

Have you already tried a nice bright color on your pout? Which color is your favorite?

AB describes herself as a “funky, intelligent, amusing, natural girl” who shares her musings at her personal blog, ..East of the Mississippi. She also uses her feminine point of view to counter the masculine opinions of her male BFF on topics like dating, relationships and online etiquette on a second blog,Friends Don’t Let Friends; where the “he said, she said” style banter incites plenty of laughter and discussion in the comments.
