Baltimore baby boutique, Wee Chic, is celebrating spring by unveiling a new children’s line featuring high quality brands designed for comfort and play. This line is also the first in Baltimore to feature product exclusivity for certain brands--including trendy chic Appaman, cozy baby brand Lucky Jade, classic clothier Kicky Pants, and Tea, with its colorful collections. Boutique owner, Bridget Quinn-Stickline, used her extensive retail and fashion merchandising experience to hand pick unique items that can’t be found anywhere else in Baltimore.
Inspired by the durability of the boutique’s new pieces, the tag line for the spring line is “Let Them Play”. When purchasing from Wee Chic, parents can feel comfortable in the knowledge that they are purchasing items that are made for active children, that feature the comfort their kids want, and in many cases--are also eco-friendly. For instance, the Lucky Jade bamboo/cotton collection is 65% bamboo, 35% cotton and printed with water-based inks. When asked about her method for choosing the items she features, Quinn-Stickline had this to say: “As a mother, I ask myself a couple questions before I buy something for my daughter. The first question is ‘Is it safe? Does it meet safety standards and not contain chemicals that will irritate her skin or leach into her body?’ The second question is ‘Is it comfortable? Is the garment made with quality fabric that moves with her, wears and washes well and continues to look good?’ I apply those standards to every item I carry, while also keeping in mind my aesthetic. This creates a designation boutique for the parent or grandparent that desires modern, chic apparel for newborns and young children.”
In addition to wearing well and lasting a long time, these pieces are just plain adorable! Bright colors and ruffles are prominent features on the looks for girls: Tea’s lotus banded print dress and solid banded dress are a girly girl’s dream, while the Lucky Jade bamboo separates are perfect for the little girl who loves to look cute while kicking up some dust. Boys stay cool and relaxed in print shirts and cotton shorts.
Wee Chic carries clothing for children ages newborn through 8 years old. The spring line retails at approximately $20 - $55—reasonable prices for the premier lines carried in the boutique. Visit Wee Chic in Greenspring Station or online.
